Batista Has Thoughts About Taking On The Rock at WrestleMania

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has gone from being the biggest wrestler in the world to being one of the top action stars. Dave Bautista isn’t quite on his level, but he has a major role in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, so he’s on his way there. As such, it may seem natural for somebody to dream of The Rock and Batista (which was the name he wrestled under, because the letter “u” is confusing apparently) squaring off at WrestleMania 33. However, one person isn’t into that idea, and it’s Bautista.

Now, the idea of The Rock and Batista squaring off at WrestleMania makes sense, because WrestleMania is the giant spectacle that is designed to bring in casual wrestling fans. It’s the Super Bowl of pro wrestling. As such, having two action stars who are former champions in action would fit right in. Bautista, though, finds it too cheesy of an idea:

That seems to put the kibosh on the idea of The Rock vs. Batista before it even got going. Besides, if that was going to be in the works, they’d probably have had to already have the wheels in motion. Not even the idea of Vin Diesel as guest referee is enough to get Bautista into the idea, apparently. Maybe Bautista’s Guardians costar Chris Pratt will be up for it.
