Not so long my friend. There are a lot of changes coming to WWE this coming week and that means it could be a very interesting time. While there are a lot of changes tot he shows and the wrestling in general, there are also going to be some changes to the way the shows are presented as a whole. This includes commentary, but the changes might not be as permanent as others.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Jerry Lawler’s time as a commentator on Monday Night Raw may not last all that long. Lawler will be turning seventy years old in November and Vince McMahon has had issues in the past with having on screen employees getting higher up in age. There is no word on when Lawler would leave the booth or whom, if anyone, would replace him.
Lawler was busy last time he was on screen. Check out Lawler’s most recent appearance:
Opinion: I can see both sides of this one. It’s true that Lawler is getting up there in years and WWE might want someone fresh, but if Lawler is still capable of doing the job well enough, his age makes no difference. Lawler is still one of the biggest names the company has but more importantly, he is someone the fans are familiar with and that can make things feel a little bit better during the show.
Do you want Lawler to stick around? Who would you have replace him? Let us know in the comments below.
