This is only a rumor, so take it for what its worth. It’s no secret that CM Punk was one of WWE’s most popular and controversial superstars, even after unceremoniously leaving the company in 2014. Fans have treated him as one of their heroes, and have always wondered if he would ever return to the company.

That is not out of the question.

According to the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletterif Punk is to make his return to professional wrestling, it would be with WWE. He was very political in his speech at the last Starrcast, saying that he has grown up, doesn’t have animosity toward WWE and said that if they were to call he would listen.

Punk’s representative had gone to FOX to try and push him to be a co-host of the new FS1 talk show, but WWE wasn’t interested in him for that. The issue would be that the minute he’s on a WWE broadcast, the people will want him to wrestle again. Hiring him to host the show would immediately make the show about him, rather than the news.

Even though WWE went after Punk with the latest lawsuit, he feels that WWE is the place that he can make the most money.

He did get an opening offer from AEW, but nothing came of it.

This is what he can do when CM Punk is at his best:

Editor’s Opinion:

I had a feeling that this might happen someday, and I’m still not thrilled about it. Ever since he walked out on the company back in 2014, I have not been a fan and I see him as one of those types of people who just speaks to get attention, not because he actually believes anything that comes out of his mouth.
