CM Punk Meets With WWE Executives Regarding On-Air Role

The prodigal son may be returning home. According to a report from PWInsider, CM Punk was recently seen at FOX Studios earlier this week in Los Angeles. He was meeting with executives regarding a potential on-air role for WWE Backstage, the new FOX Sports 1 studio show that will debut on the cable network on November 5.

While he did some test on-camera material, nothing has been confirmed that he has signed.

Renee Young, Taz, Paige, Rey Mysterio, and Sean Waltman have also been brought in by FOX Producers for a potential role.

It should be noted that WWE Backstage is being produced by FOX, not WWE, so should Punk land on the series, which will air weekly on Tuesday nights, he would not be technically working for World Wrestling Entertainment.

It had been previously reported that he was interested in making a return to WWE, should he return to professional wrestling.

Editor’s Opinion:

The only problem with this is that fans will be demanding that Punk wrestles one more match, the moment that he is signed with the company. Will this be something that could be avoided?
