That could have been worse. Wrestlers are an interesting breed of athletes as they are some of the most widely seen athletes with no off season, meaning that they are on television almost every week. At the same time though, they have to promote themselves as completely over the top and often out there characters. That can make it hard to remember just how human they are, which is something that can be easily remembered when something goes badly.

One of the harder things to hear is bad news about a former wrestler, especially if it involves their health. Once a wrestler leaves the spotlight, it can be a bit harder to keep track of what happens to them. Sometimes you do get an update, but it is rare to hear something straight from the source. That was the case this time though, and it is not exactly great news.

During the most recent episode of his Table Talk podcast, D-Von Dudley revealed that he had suffered a stroke recently, but has since recovered. This comes after Dudley announced that he was taking time off from WWE in November due to unspecified health issues, though it is not clear if the two are related. Dudley says that he is back to his normal self, though he did not say if he was back at work.

There is more to it. Check out the full show:

Opinion: That’s the kind of story that sounds horrible on the surface but the silver lining is that Dudley says he is better since. Hopefully he continues to stay better and doesn’t fall back down in the future, as that is a pretty serious situation to deal with. What matters is him being ok though and if he says he is back to normal, it sounds like something that could be a lot worse.
