It was nice while it lasted. One of the best things that can happen to a WWE wrestler is getting to debut on the main roster. A wrestler can spend a very long time trying to get there and then the big moment arrives. The problem is that after that takes place, the track record is not always the greatest. Unfortunately that seems to be the case again at the moment.
Over the weekend, Ricochet faced Sheamus on the WrestleMania Backlash Kickoff Show in a losing effort. The following night on Monday Night Raw, Ricochet was defeated by Sheamus again. This comes after both Mansoor and Humberto Carrillo have had issues with Sheamus in recent weeks, though nothing was mentioned about either of them. According to PWInsider.com, both Carrillo and Mansoor’s issues with Sheamus have been dropped for the sake of pushing other stories. There is no word on if WWE will return to the stories later.
The feuds came about when United States Champion Sheamus began issuing open challenges for non-title shots. Carrillo accepted but was attacked multiple times. Later, Mansoor was officially signed to Monday Night Raw and made his in-ring debut against Sheamus, with Carrillo interfering to cause the disqualification. Sheamus then defeated Carrillo the following week.
This has been quite the story. Check out how we got here:
Opinion: This is about as WWE as you can get on a story like this as the company has a horrible habit of starting a story and then dropping it in such a short order. There were some loose ends to be tied up and then it was suddenly all about Ricochet. Not that I am complaining about Ricochet getting more involved, but it would have been nice if one story ended before we started another one.
What did you think of Sheamus vs. Carrillo and Mansoor? Will the story ever be picked up again? Let us know in the comments below.
