Before and after. This week’s SmackDown Live may or may not have been your cup of tea. There was some good stuff here and there while most of the show was spent setting up this Friday’s Greatest Royal Rumble. The card is almost entirely set up already but now we had some more things built up before we got to Friday. There was also some advancement for the upcoming Backlash card. However, some more stuff also took place before and after the show went on the air.

Hint: pancakes were involved.

The Bar interrupt The New Day's candlelight pancake dinner: SmackDown LIVE, April 24, 2018

According to Wrestlinginc.com, the dark match before this week’s episode of SmackDown Live saw the New Day defeat the Bar when Kofi Kingston pinned Cesaro. In addition to the pre-show dark match and also according to Wrestlinginc.com, there was a second dark match after both SmackDown Live and 205 Live went off the air. After the two shows, Jeff Hardy successfully defended the United States Title against the Miz. Hardy is currently scheduled to defend the title against Jinder Mahal at the Greatest Royal Rumble.

All of these people were on SmackDown as well. Check our results to find out how.

Opinion: You don’t often see a big match like that before the show so hopefully there’s a chance that we’ll be seeing the match again soon. The two teams had some good matches back when the teams were on Monday Night Raw about a year and a half ago and there’s no reason to believe they can’t do it again. Hardy vs. Miz could be a good match as well, though it wouldn’t shock me if their next title match was for the Intercontinental Title instead of the United States Title.
