They’re having problems. The WWE women’s division has come a long way in the last several years, reaching heights that would have seemed impossible only a decade ago. This has included main eventing pay per views and multiple championships. WWE is currently working to crown new Women’s Tag Team Champions but one team might not be around much longer.

This week’s SmackDown featured a four way tag team match as part of the tournament. The match ended when Sonya Deville pinned Nikki Ash, allowing Deville and Natalya to advance. Later in the show, Natalya and Deville gave an interview bragging about their win. As they spoke, Ash and her partner Doudrop could be seen arguing in the background, suggesting that their team may be ending soon. There is no word on any WWE plans to split them up, but it seems that the seeds are being planted.

Opinion: I’m not sure I get the idea of splitting up the team, but if it leads to Ash getting a new gimmick or at least dropping the Almost A Superhero deal, as that has not exactly gone well for her. The team does well enough, but Doudrop could do well on her own, preferably under a different name. This could be good for the two of them and bad for the tag division at the same time, though it does seem like something is changing.
