They’re the bosses. AEW has come a long way in its short history and a lot of that is thanks to its lucrative television deals. The company airs its television shows on TBS and TNT, putting it on some of the strongest cable options around. That means AEW is likely going to be willing to do whatever the corporate bosses want, and now they have a suggestion about a change.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Warner Brothers Discovery has requested that AEW tone down the swearing on its television shows. There is no word on how much AEW was asked to change or what is considered acceptable from Warner Brothers Discovery. AEW TV is rated TV-14 which usually allows for strong language. At the same time, AEW has not been told to cut down on the amount of violence or blood.

Opinion: I’m not entirely surprised by this, but it does show the interesting difference in what is acceptable and what isn’t. The words that AEW wrestlers use seem to be too far for Warner Brothers Discovery, but they are fine with closeups of wrestlers being busted open. That is something that takes place everywhere and it still does not make the most sense. Either way, I’m sure AEW will do as they are told here as the last thing that you want to do is annoy the people who keep you alive.

What do you think of the request? Who will it impact the most? Let us know in the comments below.
