The expansion continues. There is a lot of time to fill on the WWE Network and the company certainly likes to spread around the world. The spread has already included the debut of NXT UK but that doesn’t mean that WWE is done with just one new territory. There is always the chance of expanding even further and WWE may already be starting that move.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is considering starting an NXT Canada, with Anthony Carelli (Santino Marella) being a part of it in some way, which could be as a coach or a trainer. At the moment, there is no word on when the promotion would start, or if it would whatsoever. WWE has previously discussed starting other NXT territories, including in Germany.
Marella was around at Raw Reunion. Check out his backstage segment from the show:
Opinion: Would this really surprise you? Having NXT territories all over the world seems to be WWE’s answer to the territory system and really, that’s not the worst idea in the world. It gives more wrestlers places to work and they can be moved around from territory to territory and see learn a few things in front of different audiences. That’s one of the better ideas they can have while also owning so much of the wrestling world.
Do you like the idea of another NXT territory? Where else should get one? Let us know in the comments below.
