The name is the game. A lot is changing in the wrestling world at the moment and it really is a situation where everyone has to upgrade themselves and do whatever they can to get ahead. That is easier said than done in some cases but even WWE has to make some adjustments. One set of changes might be moving things to a better fitting place, which may be their latest idea.
This week on NXT, a Cruiserweight Title match was announced for next week’s show with champion Drew Gulak defending against #1 contender Lio Rush. The important note about the match was that the title was referred to as the NXT Cruiserweight Title for the first time. This follows an announcement from Triple H that 205 Live and NXT would be merging together in the future.
It’s a different way of doing things. Check out the official announcement:
Opinion: This is long, long overdue and I’m not sure why they waited this long to go to the new system. 205 Live has not done well at keeping the fans around so it would make sense to move the title over to a place where everyone is going to be chomping at the bit for all of the wrestling that they can. It wouldn’t surprise me if this is the beginning of the end for 205 Live, though I’ve been wrong on that several times before.
Do you like the move? What does it mean for 205 Live? Let us know in the comments below.
