They’re still around. WWE has a lot of programming and that has been the case for a very long time now. It can be hard to keep track of all of it sometimes because there might just be too much of it going on. Some of the shows are better than others because they stand out and offer something different, which is the case with a show that is going to be making a return.

Last year, SmackDown debuted on FOX, officially making WWE part of the FOX collection of sports. That is quite the upgrade for anyone and it certainly was for WWE. Suddenly the company was part of one of the biggest sports networks in the world and with that comes some additional investment in the show. That included a bonus weekly show, which has since been canceled, but it will be back for a special edition.

As announced by WWE.com, a special episode of WWE Backstage, the company’s official weekly studio show, will air this week after SmackDown on FOX Sports 1. This week’s SmackDown will air on the network as well, due to FOX airing game three of the World Series. This is a one off edition and there is no indication that Backstage will be returning full time. The show was canceled earlier this year during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Interesting things can happen backstage. Check out some of the more interesting WWE moments:

Opinion: This is a nice treat and something that you don’t get to see very often. Backstage was not a concept that needed to be around every single week but having it around like this is going to work a little bit better. WWE recaps everything that they are doing every single week so having it airing as a special like this is something that should be a nice way to go, at least for one night.
