They’ll be around for a long time. I know it doesn’t seem possible, but AEW has a few months to go before they turn a year old. While the promotion was announced on January 1, 2019, their first show did not air until May 25, 2019. Then their weekly television show started in October and they were off to the races. That was less than four months ago and now it is time for their next major step forward.

AEW is a lot of things and one of those things is very young. They have not been around for a long time and do not have a lot of wrestlers who have regularly wrestled on a national stage. Their wrestlers are very talented and can do a lot of things in the ring but they also have a lot more to learn. With some news that broke today, they are going to be learning on the job in a hurry.

WarnerMedia, which owns the TNT network, issued a press release today announcing that AEW Dynamite has been extended for another three years, bringing the contract up through 2023. The deal also includes another weekly television show from AEW. There is no word yet on when the new show will air or how long it will run for every week. According to F4Wonline.com, the deal is for $175 million, or just shy of $45 million per year.

Dynamite has done rather well so far. Check out a few highlights:

Opinion: That’s quite the news for AEW and it seems that they are certainly a hit as far as TNT goes. To be extended this long is a good sign for their future and shows that they are going to be around for a long time to come. I’m not sure what is going to happen in the next few years but it is certainly going to be interesting to see what AEW has in store, as they have done rather well in a limited quantity.
