He can do that. There is no one more powerful in the wrestling world than Vince McMahon. His opinions and decisions can change the way anything in wrestling works and that can cause a lot of problems at certain times. McMahon is rather known for his eccentric decision making and that is never more present than Monday Night Raw. That was on full display this week.
While it might not be the powerhouse show that it once was, Monday Night Raw is still the most important wrestling show in the world. SmackDown is on the bigger network, but Monday Night Raw has a level of importance that almost nothing else can approach. However, there are still some weeks that are not as good as others, and that was the case this week for a pretty specific reason.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, McMahon rewrote several parts of this week’s Monday Night Raw, including the reveal of the spider in Erick Rowan’s cage, Riddick Moss winning a clean fall over Ricochet and Aleister Black being pinned for the first time in a singles match on the main roster. Moss vs. Ricochet was originally planned to be R-Truth vs. Moss, though there is no word on why the change was made.
Here’s what McMahon wanted. Check out some of what we got on Monday Night Raw:
Opinion: This is the kind of thing that can cause a lot of problems in a hurry. Ignoring some of the decisions made, it isn’t going to make things better when you change so many things at the last minute. It messes with the wrestlers’ mindsets, not to mention all of the people who put the show together in the first place. This happens way too often and it shakes up far too many parts of Monday Night Raw almost every time.
