That’s one more on the docket. With the Road to Wrestlemania really starting to pick up, it’s high time to start announcing more of the pay per view schedule. Over the last few weeks we’ve gotten dates for some more shows and tonight at the “Monday Night Raw” taping, another pay per view date was added to the list.
According to WrestleZone.com, it
was announced that “Backlash 2017” will take place at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois on May 21. This will be a “Smackdown Live” event and the second “Backlash” in nine months as “Backlash 2016” took place back in September. The arena’s most recent pay per view was “Payback 2016” in May.
Opinion: As usual, certain cities get pay per views far more often than other markets. That makes sense though as a city like Chicago is going to be able to fill in an arena far more easily than a smaller city which just doesn’t have the population to support a major event. Chicago is always good for a rowdy crowd too and that (almost) always helps things out a lot.
Backlash Kickoff: Sept. 11, 2016
