That’s very convincing. The Coronavirus has wrecked havoc on WWE for several months now and there is no reason to believe that is going to be changing anytime soon. Above all else, a lot of wrestlers are not comfortable with coming to the Performance Center under these circumstances and have stayed at home. That might not be the best thing for the fans or the company, but it does make sense. However, WWE may be fighting back against them in a pretty big way.

There have been several wrestlers not appearing on WWE television for a good while, though some wrestlers have been away a lot longer than others. Some of these names leaving have been a bit bigger than others, with Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn being near the top of the list. As you might guess, the two of them, plus anyone else staying away, are on different levels. WWE is not happy with some people staying away and it may be time for them to do something about it.

According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE is considering either freezing or extending the contracts of wrestlers who have missed significant time. This would mainly apply to Reigns and Zayn, though Reigns is not likely to ever leave WWE in the first place. Zayn has not wrestled since WrestleMania 36 and Roman Reigns has not appeared on WWE TV since March. Some wrestlers who have missed some smaller stretches of time, such as Kevin Owens, would not have anything done to their contracts as they were not away long enough.

You may need a refresher. Check out Zayn and Reigns in action:

Opinion: I know this might not seem like the nicest thing to do in the current situation but I can’t really blame WWE whatsoever. We’re approaching four months since Reigns last appeared and while there are special circumstances, that is a long time for any wrestler to be gone without being injured. What would stop someone from just sitting at home and taking a vacation while letting some of their contract burn off? No it doesn’t sound great, but it does make sense after all this time.

What do you want to see Reigns do when he returns? Will Zayn get the Intercontinental Title back? Let us know in the comments below.
