He just wants a thank you. We are less than two weeks away from Extreme Rules and that means things are picking up in WWE. With so little time left to get ready, WWE is going to need to crank up the energy to make the fans more interested in what they are offering. One way to do that is with some bigger matches, and that is the case with a particular violent offering. However, it might not be the most original idea.
One of the biggest matches on the card will feature Seth Rollins vs. Rey Mysterio in an Eye For An Eye match. The idea is built around Rollins taking out Mysterio’s eye earlier this year, causing Mysterio to want revenge. That is exactly what he may be able to get as the match will only end when someone loses an eye. It may sound violent, but it isn’t even the first time it has happened this year.
On Wednesday, AEW’s Chris Jericho sent out a tweet of an announcement for an Eye For An Eye match that AEW presented on the February 12 Dynamite. The match featured Jon Moxley vs. Santana, both of whom had suffered eye injuries in the previous weeks. The match did not include the same stipulations but was billed as an Eye For An Eye match in the time leading up to it.
Eye for an eye match? You’re welcome…. #AEWDynamite 2/12/20 @AEWrestling pic.twitter.com/QIrgW3Phez

Both matches work. Check out how we got to both of them:
Opinion: I don’t think Jericho is exactly serious about the match being the same but the Eye For An Eye thing is kind of a big theme to use twice in four months. It is a pretty common statement, but AEW can certainly look at it and point to their own match. There is something interesting that two stories both came to the same tagline, even if they had two rather different stories to get there.
