Why Austin Theory Received The WrestleMania Spot

E Pluribus Theory. WrestleMania is going to be one of the most unique wrestling events that anyone has seen in years. This coming weekend, a grand total of no fans are going to be in the WWE Performance Center to watch the two night event, which will feature a grand total of sixteen matches. Some of these matches are bigger than others, but there is one performer who seemed to come out of nowhere.

Earlier this week, Austin Theory was announced as the replacement for Andrade, whose rib injury kept him out of the Raw Tag Team Title match at WrestleMania. This is quite the change of pace as Theory has only been in NXT since late December 2019 and is now challenging for a title at WrestleMania. That is an amazing turnaround, but why did Theory get the spot?

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Theory received the spot at WrestleMania due to the influence of Paul Heyman, who is high on Theory. Heyman got him the spot because he is high on all four participants in the match, including Angel Garza and the Street Profits. There is no word on if Theory will be staying on the main roster or going back down to NXT after WrestleMania.

Opinion: Theory is someone with all of the potential in the world as the guy has the look, the natural ability and the look where you want to see him get beaten. I can’t imagine that this is going to be anything more than a one off appearance as I can’t believe the titles are changing hands, but Theory getting the nod over so many other wrestlers is quite the accomplishment for him.
