You have to defend them. There are a lot of titles in WWE today and it is easy to see how some of them could get lost in the shuffle. That does not mean the champions are not incredibly talented or that they are not worth seeing, but sometimes titles are going to get overlooked. That makes a title defense all the more important, and we will be getting another one next week.

The tag team scene is in a weird place in WWE, as the two titles were literally traded for each other just after last year’s WWE Draft. As a result, the Street Profits have only been SmackDown Tag Team Champions for about three months but they have held some version of the Tag Team Titles for the better part of a year. That means their SmackDown Tag Team Title reign needs a bit of a boost, and now they may be getting one.

WWE has announced that the Street Profits will defend the SmackDown Tag Team Titles against Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler on the January 8 edition of the show. Roode and Ziggler attacked the Street Profits on this week’s edition of SmackDown and later said that they wanted a shot at the titles. This will be Roode and Ziggler’s third shot at the titles after they lost to the Street Profits on October 16 and December 18. Another title match was already set for the show, with Big E. defending the Intercontinental Title against Apollo Crews.

Opinion: The match makes sense but at the same time, we’ve kind of seen this show a lot lately. I’m not sure how many times we need to see it go down, and it is getting to the point where we almost have to see a title change. The matches have only been so good in the first place and hopefully this is it. There is no reason to believe the match won’t work, but it probably needs to be their last one.
