They did it again. One of the things that a lot of fans miss in today’s wrestling world is the lack of wrestlers being able to jump from one promotion to another. With WWE being the biggest promotion in the world and not having much of anything anywhere close to it, they can pick and choose where their talent goes. That would include Evolve, which was in for quite a surprise tonight.
Tonight at Evolve 114, NXT talent Fabian Aichner won the Evolve Title by defeating champion Shane Strickland. Aichner is the latest NXT name to make an appearance with the promotion as part of a working agreement between the two companies. In addition to Aichner, the Street Profits appeared on the show and won the promotion’s Tag Team Titles. Evolve has already announced the title change on their Twitter page, which you can see below.
Opinion: This is rather interesting. There comes a point where there’s just not enough room for everyone on one show and maybe letting them go visit another promotion can get them over the hump back in NXT. It really is a situation where there’s nothing else for them to do so why not try it out? This lets the talent go somewhere else and learn freshen up a bit while Evolve gets something fresh as a bonus.
Do you like the idea of these NXT wrestlers going elsewhere? Who else would you like to see go? Let us know in the comments below.
