Real Reason Why WWE Turned Elias Babyface Revealed

Last Monday Night was a changing of the guard for WWE. With Roman Reigns taking a leave of absence to handle his leukemia diagnosis and Dean Ambrose turning heel, the roster has undergone some abrupt changes. As a result, WWE officials thought it was a necessary move to turn Elias babyface by attacking Baron Corbin with his own guitar.

On paper, “The Drifter” has been playing with the heel and babyface line for a long time now, but it took until now for WWE officials to pull the trigger on the turn. According to a report from Rajah, Raw lost two babyfaces after Reigns’ absence and Dean Ambrose’s turn. WWE turning Elias and Braun Strowman is their way of balancing the Raw roster.

The WWE Universe would argue that Elias has been a babyface for several months, but now WWE officials are going to book him like one. Moving forward, he should receive a much bigger push. It’s unclear how things are going to go because he could feud with a number of heels including Baron Corbin, Bobby Lashley, or maybe even Dolph Ziggler.

A lot of fans believe a “major push” should result in championship gold. With Ambrose and Seth Rollins feuding over the IC Title and Braun Strowman facing Brock Lesnar to determine the next WWE Universal Champion, the odds of Elias holding at a title aren’t high. However, that shouldn’t discourage fans from thinking his role isn’t important.

How Elias’ character changes as a babyface should be interesting because most people don’t want him to change at all. The bright side is he’s expected to win more matches as a babyface. Once everything settles down, The Drifter can do something a lot bigger.
