Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet is reporting that WWE have filed a lawsuit against a foreign television distributor for withholding money from them.
According to documents now filed in court, WWE had entered into an agreement with Transworld Television in which TWT had the right to solicit TV license agreements for WWE.
They were allowed to do this, as Satin explains, through certain geographical areas, but were required to collect money and pay a portion to WWE.
Transworld would than make an agreement in 2014 with a company licensing WWE programming for television in Africa and the Middle East. That said, Transworld would than fail to pay WWE any of the money following three payments received in 2017 for the content.
WWE claims they’ve sent multiple invoices and emails attempting to recoup the money, which Satin notes is at $3371242.98, but they’ve yet to hear back in any capacity or receive the overdue payments.
The wrestling company are seeking the judge to help them get their money back, plus interest, alongside legal fees.
