This past Monday on “RAW,” John Cena lost a Contract on a Pole match to Dean Ambrose, setting up the Hell in a Cell matches for the pay-per-view of the same name. But a new report claims despite losing that match, Cena will still main event the show.
PWInsider says the current main event penciled in for “Hell in a Cell” will be the John Cena/Randy Orton Hell in a Cell match. This will go forward as the headliner, as opposed to the highly-built Dean Ambrose/Seth Rollins program.
While some would refer to the card as featuring a “double main event,” it appears the plan is to have Cena and Orton finish the show off. The two last closed a card with their Tables, Ladders and Chairs match at “TLC” in 2013. They also were the last match to go on before the Royal Rumble match in January.
Ambrose and Rollins will still receive prominent billing on the show, and will still occur within the structures of the cell. However, it appears WWE still plans to feature its established veterans as the final match.
Editor’s Note
Would be a silly decision by them, as the money is in Ambrose and Rollins right now. There is still plenty of time for the card to change, so take it with a grain of salt as we go forward.
