Former WWE Superstar Chris Jericho appeared at Wizard World Comic Con in St. Louis recently, and was asked several questions about his career. Jericho has, in the past, pulled double-duty as both a professional wrestler and rock star with his band Fozzy.
He says that it was always something he wanted to do.
“When I was a kid I wanted to be in a rock band and I wanted to be a wrestler. Those were my two goals and I focused my entire career to make those goals come true,” he said.
On which is a harder career path:
“It’s all hard. And it’s all show business. I’ve never considered myself a wrestler. I consider myself an entertainer. Anything that falls within that show business umbrella I feel I can do. That’s how I set my goals.”
Jericho also revealed that he is open-minded to returning to wrestling, though it may not be in the cards anytime soon.
“I still enjoy it. When I feel there’s something interesting to me I’ll get back in wrestling, but for now I’m plenty busy with everything I’m doing.”
The former WWE and World Heavyweight Champion’s most recent run with WWE culminated just after the Money in the Bank pay-per-view last year. He had made a surprise return to the company at the Royal Rumble, entering No. 2 overall and lasting most of the match.
He is working on his third autobiography currently, alongside manning his popular podcast and writing with the band, ruling a return to the ring anytime soon unlikely.
