This week on Monday Night Raw, CM Punk began to address the WWE Universe about his WrestleMania loss to the Undertaker, before giving the microphone to Paul Heyman and walking out without another word. At this point it seems that WWE was writing Punk off television with that segment, and his time off will be substantial.

Although Punk has sustained several injuries in the past year – working all of 2012 as the WWE Champion – it appears that the “Second City Saint” will not require any surgery. He has been removed from the upcoming WWE tour in the United Kingdom, and will not be working the upcoming Extreme Rules pay-per-view.

CM Punk’s absence from both the UK Tour and Extreme Rules is likely the reason WWE chose to utilize the Undertaker in tag team action with his brother Kane, next week on Monday Night Raw. It is also possible it is the reason they are rushing the rematch between Brock Lesnar and Triple H.

At this time there is no update on whether Punk will make his return before WWE’s Payback pay-per-view in Chicago on July 16th.
