Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett kicked off this week’s episode of WWE Main Event, and talked about being the champion to lead into tonight’s Battle Royale.

A back-and-forth match between the two former Nexus members got a mixed reaction from the crowd, but was said to be pretty good for a Main Event match. Wade Barrett connected with the Bullhammer for the pinfall.

R-Truth was not involved in the Main Event Battle Royale, as his victory over Barrett on Monday Night Raw might indicate. Look for him to challenge for the title at next month’s Extreme Rules pay-per-view.
