People Power Meets the People’s Champion!

WWE taped this week’s episode of Friday Night Smackdown live from Hershey, Pennsylvania. 

WWE Champion Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson starts off the show, and tells a story about Hershey, Pennsylvania. John Laurinaitis makes a surprise return and cuts him off, before bringing up how John Cena is responsible for his downfall and being removed from his postion as Raw general manager and E.V.P. of talent relations. He asks the Rock to be in his corner at WrestleMania, but the People’s Champion delivers a patented spinebuster, followed by the People’s Elbow right to the heart of People Power.

(1) Chris Jericho def. Wade Barrett

After the match, Jericho has a stare-down with Fandango.

Booker T and Teddy Long host the weightlifting challenge between Mark Henry and Ryback. There is a “no contact” clause in effect for both men until their match at WrestleMania. After they tie, Henry drops the weights on the back of Ryback’s neck, causing him to flail about in pain.

(2) Team Hell No & Kaitlyn def. Dolph Ziggler, Big E Langston & AJ Lee

(3) Jack Swagger vs. The Great Khali went to a “no contest”

Ricardo distracted Swagger during the match, and lured him to the entrance ramp. While that is happening, Alberto del Rio sneaks up to ringside and locks in the Cross Arm Breaker on Zeb Coulter. Swagger rushes the ring, but the World Champ knocks him off the apron.

(4) Randy Orton, Sheamus & Big Show def. Cody Rhodes, Damien Sandow & Antonio Cesaro

The Shield attacks after the match, and Smackdown goes off the air with all six men brawling through the crowd.
