As we’ve suspected for what feels like months, AJ Styles will be taking on Shane McMahon at WrestleMania in a few weeks. The feud became official on last night’s SmackDown, but not without a few twists and turns.

The big one is that following his garage-based attack on Shane, AJ was “fired” by SmackDown GM Daniel Bryan. Those air quotes, of course, mean that this was a purely on-screen firing. Makes sense in story, maybe leads to a wild “unsanctioned” match at WrestleMania. Cool, fine. Whatevs.

But the team at WWE.com enjoyed some extra attention to detail, because following Tuesday night’s show AJ is no longer listed on WWE’s active roster. Instead, he’s been moved to the alumni page, where he now sits between AJ Lee and Akeem.

Whether or not you’re a fan of the Shane and AJ match-up–and it sounds like a lot of you aren’t–that’s great attention to detail.

Of course, AJ will be back under official WWE auspices soon, and we wonder if a trip to Raw might be in the cards following his WrestleMania match. It makes sense in storyline, and having AJ would do a lot to spice up Raw’s main event scene. But with Finn Balor and Seth Rollins on the road to a speedy return, does the red brand need him?
