Oh, WWE. Just when it seems fan perception of the show can’t get any worse, they go and make it seem that the crowd hates Roman less than they do. A little.
If you caught Raw live last night, you undoubtedly heard the Chicago crowd chanting “Roman sucks” during his segment with the Undertaker. It gave the impression of being deafening in the arena, and lasted for a good long time.
Now, check out WWE’s official clip on Youtube below. The chant is there but it only seems to begin after Roman and Taker look at the WrestleMania sign, seconds before Undertaker delivers the chokeslam.
I’m not sure what I’m more confused about here. They edited the “Roman sucks” chant to make it seem less loud and long, but leave it in for the segment’s most important moment. They also didn’t make an effort to edit out the huge, prolific CM Punk chants from the Chicago crowd. Just check out the crowd during Stephanie’s speech below.
Weird, right? For what it’s worth, the edited Hulu version of Raw includes both chants in their full glory.
I’m not angry, just confused. Especially given that Braun Strowman was explicitly calling out the crowd’s dislike of Roman and they made every effort to speak specifically to the Chicago arena.
