It’s that special day of the year—WrestleMania. It’s WWE’s gala event, a combination of big wrestling matches, celebrity appearances, and a scale of production rarely seen in the sports entertainment world. As a hardcore fan, it’s tough not to be disappointed with the card going into the show, given how many dream matches we were inches away from seeing, and the stars who aren’t on the show this year. But come on, it’s WrestleMania.
With Randy Orton’s Royal Rumble victory guaranteeing him a spot in the main event of WrestleMania (and yes, I will continue banging that drum regardless of where the match ended up on the card), the stage was perfectly set for him to make the long-awaited turn against WWE Champion Bray Wyatt. Their partnership and feud has been a staple of SmackDown for most of the past six months, meaning that this result would be a big one.
The mind games kept going in the ring, with Bray calling down projections of maggots, worms, and insects. Yet Orton overcame the horror movie displays with an RKO for the victory.
