There’s one night left to go until WrestleMania, but WWE’s biggest show of the year is for the stars of Raw and SmackDown. Tonight it’s all about NXT, and Takeover: Orlando comes with the promise of excellent matches featuring WWE’s newest superstars. NXT has had a rough go maintaining enthusiasm ever since the draft decimated its roster and its creative team—will this Takeover be what it takes to get the yellow brand back on track?

I’m not sure any team has had so many Match of the Year candidates in such a short time as the Revival. One of their most prolific opponents—#DIY—took them to the limit multiple times in an epic rivalry concluding with all-time classic two-out-of-three falls match. But as of Takeover, the big, bad Authors of Pain held the titles, and it seemed the only way either opponent could deal with the champs was by working together to eliminate them. So what was the result?

It was one hell of a match, and one that indeed saw a constantly evolving partnership between #DIY and the Revival as they worked together to take down the Authors–before remembering how much they hated each other. But no combination of interteam tag moves could take down AoP, not even a massive table spot.

The Authors of Pain retained the title, and went home with the new NXT Tag Team Championship.

We’ll have plenty more live coverage throughout WrestleMania weekend, including results from all the big Takeover matches and—of course—everything at WrestleMania itself.
