The “Chosen One” is coming home.

In an interview with ESPN following “NXT Takeover: Orlando,” Drew McIntyre revealed that he has signed an official deal with NXT. He was seen in the audience during the show, and garnered a huge pop from the crowd.

The “Chosen One” had the following to say regarding the signing:

“Well the answer’s pretty simple,” said McIntyre. “I’ve won championships all across the world, I’ve helped build brands. So what’s the next logical thing for me to do? It’s to come here and win the NXT title.”

“If that’s not clear enough for everybody, Drew McIntyre has signed with NXT,” said McIntyre, definitively.

McIntyre was last seen on WWE programming in 2014, as a member of 3MB along with Heath Slater and Jinder Mahal. Following this, he signed with TNA in 2015 and competed under the name Drew Galloway. During this time, he won both the Impact Grand Championship and the TNA World Heavyweight once.

Galloway announced that he was leaving TNA in February of this year.

Editor’s Note:

No surprises here. NXT is the perfect place for Galloway; not only is he a guy who is adored by the internet fans because of how talented he is, but he can also use his experience to help groom the next generation of talent. Welcome home, Drew!
