When Paige debuted on Raw back in 2014, she was easily the most exciting woman on the roster, and a bright future with the company seemed assured. Two Divas Championships notwithstanding, things haven’t exactly been going well for the inaugural NXT Women’s Champion.
Her 60-day wellness policy suspension is up soon, and she’s continued to appear on Total Divas. The reality show has even gone so far as to address her relationship with Alberto Del Rio, whose issues with WWE have been quite public.
But while Paige’s suspension is up, her return is not assured. She will still be unable to return to action due to her neck surgery earlier this year, and isn’t expected to make a full recovery until early 2017. Reportedly, WWE did not feel she needed the surgery, and was unhappy with her decision to go ahead with the operation.
According to PWInsider, Paige has gone so far as to isolate herself from the locker room. Given the existing strain between Paige and WWE between the relationship with Del Rio, the surgery, and the wellness policy violations, it seems increasingly unlikely that things could go back to normal.
Paige was drafted to Monday Night Raw as part of the brand split in July, but has made no WWE appearance since Raw on June 27th.
