WrestleMania is the books, and Vince McMahon’s giant wheel just keeps on spinnin’. Tonight, it’s all about resetting for the world after ‘Mania, and we’re going to be seeing Raw and SmackDown stars shifting brands over the next two nights.
That makes it a bit difficult to predict what’s going down tonight. All the reports coming from backstage have been centered on the Shakeup, and the shape of the next PPV card is up in the air until we nail down who’s going where.
We do know that Sheamus & Cesaro are now #1 contenders for the Raw Tag Team Championship, and it seems more than likely that they’ll take that opportunity against the Hardy Boyz before risking a move to Tuesday nights.
The other dangling plot threads include Finn Balor’s return, Chris Jericho’s destruction at the hands of Kevin Owens and Samoa Joe, and the next challenger for Brock Lesnar’s Universal Championship–which seems to be down to Roman Reigns or Braun Strowman.
But then there’s the part we’re really curious about–the Superstar Shakeup. This looks to be a two-night event, and while we’ve heard some conflicting reports about what’s going down there have been enough commonalities for us to have a pretty clear picture of what’s happening.
All signs point to AJ Styles coming to Raw, but the possibility of a big singles trade to SmackDown remains uncertain. Roman Reigns has been suggested as a new blue brand star, but it also seems he’s in line to main event the next Raw PPV against Braun Strowman. Roman’s uncertain status is the big question mark heading into the Shakeup.
The New Day will be moving to SmackDown, and two top women are set to be traded–Charlotte Flair will be headed to SmackDown, and Alexa Bliss will be headed to Raw. Some reports even suggest that Sasha Banks will transition to the blue brand, which it seems she’d be happy about.
