Takeover: San Antonio is here, and we’ve got the latest results. NXT’s been in a slump these past few months, but with every one of the brand’s titles on the line tonight, this special is a terrific opportunity to turn things around.

Asuka has been NXT’s most unstoppable force, laying waste to every single competitor the women’s division has to offer. With the Four Horsewomen moving up to the main roster, she hasn’t had a credible threat in ages, but that doesn’t mean NXT’s up-and-comers haven’t been trying to make their presence known.

Nikki Cross, Billie Kay, and Peyton Royce all wanted an opportunity at the gold, and they were willing to beat down Asuka to get it. Asuka’s response? She wanted a match. With all of them. At once. Kay and Royce are partners, but we certainly didn’t expect their friendship to last long with both of them going after championship gold in the same match.

It was a brief match, but a brutal one. Royce and Kay managed to work together long enough to take out Asuka and isolate Cross, driving her through a table by the ramp. By the time they returned to the ring, however, Asuka had gotten back to her feet, and made short work of the pair to retain her NXT Women’s Championship.
