John Cena has been one of the most prolific stars in WWE history, and love him or hate him there’s no argument against his work ethic and the hours he’s put in to World Wrestling Entertainment. But it seems that Cena is finally slowing down.

Cena had an uncharacteristic amount of time off in 2016, which he spent on various film and television projects before returning in time for the start of WrestleMania season. Once the big event is over, however, it looks like another movie will be taking him away from wrestling fans once again.

The wrestler will have a starring role in the comedy film Daddy’s Home 2. Cena had a cameo in the previous movie, and that role will now be a starring one.

John will remain on WWE programming through WrestleMania, but will have extended time away following the show.

Lest you cynically suggest that this will be a straight-to-DVD sequel to the Hollywood original, Cena’s co-stars include Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, Mel Gibson, John Lithgow, and Linda Cardellini.

It looks to be Cena’s biggest movie role yet, and one that could open doors for the wrestler to spend even more time outside the ring. Some fans will see that as a blessing, others as a disappointment–but hey, at least the Miz will keep getting new promo material.
