Asuka might have some competition. Japan has always been a hot spot for professional wrestling and there’s a chance that WWE has found its next Japanese star. With the success that Asuka and Shinsuke Nakamura have seen in NXT, it’s no surprise to see WWE sign another Japanese star.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter by way of 411mania.com, WWE has signed Stardom’s Kairi Hojo. This is a big signing as Hojo has won several titles in the promotion, including two that she currently holds. At the moment, she is scheduled to report to NXT in April, though there is no word on when she will appear on TV.

Opinion: If there’s one thing the women’s division needs right now, it’s more depth. Asuka has cleaned the whole thing out and there’s no one around who can give her much of a challenge. Someone like Hojo could bring some fresh blood to the division and pick things up a bit, especially if Asuka moves up to the main roster anytime soon.
