Sure, WrestleMania might be two months away, and we still have at least two major championship matches to see before then, but it’s never to early to speculate on winners, right? Especially when there’s money involved.
A recent article from gambling site SmartBets lays out the early smart money for WWE’s show of shows. More specifically, which two men will be walking out as Universal and WWE Champions. If you’ve been following recent rumors, neither of the site’s favorite’s should come as a major surprise, but let’s break it down.
On the Raw side, Kevin Owens is the current Universal Champion, though with a Fastlane match coming up against Goldberg, it seems his days holding the title are numbered. That’s why he’s ranked third om the favorites, just ahead of the injured Finn Balor, who’s expected to be ready for action by the time of WrestleMania.
So who is favored? That would be the Beast Incarnate, Brock Lesnar. Current predictions suggest he’ll get the win back over Goldberg, claiming Raw’s big title in the process.
On the SmackDown side? As expected, Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt lead the pack, with the current champ, John Cena, and former champ, AJ Styles, as the next closest underdogs.
Elimination Chamber could see any number of SmackDown’s superstars win the brand’s big prize, but the story is building toward a clash between Wyatt Family members, and the odds reflect that.
These gambles fit in line with what we’ve heard about WWE’s WrestleMania plans, and certainly seem like the right picks to us.
