We suspected that Randy Orton would be set for action against his former Wyatt Family compatriots sooner rather than later, and based on tonight’s SmackDown, it seems he’s got a match for Elimination Chamber.

Luke Harper, now exiled from the family, said he’s seen the snake in the grass for far too long, and wants to take on the Viper for himself. We got official confirmation just ahead of Orton’s singles match in SmackDown’s main event.

Check in with our live blog for full results in Orton’s contest against John Cena. We’re told it’s the “first time ever!” (On SmackDown Live.)

With Orton hot off a Royal Rumble victory, and set for a championship match at WrestleMania, the outcome here seems assured. Especially with the very likely outcome of Bray Wyatt coming out of Elimination Chamber as WWE Champion. It’s doubtful that any part of the Wyatt Family is staying together for much longer.

Still, it’s a major first step in Harper’s new singles push, which will hopefully result in more fans recognizing that Harper is actually a pretty great wrestler.

Looking forward to seeing Harper and Orton go one-on-one? Any chance for a Harper victory? Let us know in the comments below, or on Facebook!
