WWE recently announced a new weekly program featuring Raw’s Cruiserweight division, and while that initial announcement was light on detail, we have learned a few more details on the show, which is scheduled to start on November 29th.
Called “205 Live,” the program features competitors under a 205-pound weight limit, similar to the CWC, but in contrast to the Raw version of the division, which has swept the details of weight limits under the rug. The names lined up for the show include Brian Kendrick, T.J. Perkins, Rich Swann, Noam Dar, HoHo Lun, Cedric Alexander, Lince Dorado, Gran Metalik, Tozawa (no longer to be billed with his given name), Jack Gallagher, and the Bollywood Boyz.
That’s what we already knew, so here’s the new info, thanks to the Wrestling Observer. Cruiserweight division regulars like Tony Nese, Drew Gulak, and Ariya Daivari are not currently signed. Sin Cara, who has also made regular appearances for the Cruiserweight division, is not currently advertised for the new show. Superstars like Neville and Kalisto are also not scheduled for 205 Live.

The show will run Tuesdays after SmackDown, broadcast live in the same arena as the main roster show at 10PM Eastern/9PM Central. The commentary will feature the dream team of Mauro Ranallo and Corey Graves. Talking Smack will be pushed back to 11PM Eastern. The Cruiserweights will continue to appear on Raw, and will also appear on NXT’s weekend tours.
The Cruiserweight division obviously needs some changes. The CWC tournament was one of the finest bits of programming WWE has put together in years, but the division has floundered on Monday Night Raw, with lackluster stories and disinterested crowds. Adding more exposure for the division may not be the ideal solution–especially as it disrupts WWE’s excellent Tuesday night programming–but clearly something has to change.
