Ryback: “They Slipped Me Shrooms and I Hit on Bray’s Wife”

Ryback’s “Conversation With the Big Guy” podcast is still running, and the former WWE superstar’s stories get a little more outlandish every time they come around. This time, the Big Guy talked about a particularly ridiculous Halloween experience.

That experience (helpfully transcribed by WrestlingInc) involved Ryback being banned from Halloween party held by Bo Dallas and Bray Wyatt–real life brothers in the Rotunda family–unless he could put together a costume. Lacking anything else, he hit the local Wal-Mart, which was naturally well-stocked with John Cena merchandise, providing Ryback’s outfit for the party.

Things get weird from there. “I am convinced, to this day, somebody gave me mushrooms,” Ryback said. “I’ve been extremely drunk many times before. What happened the rest of that night is so outside of how I normally am. I can’t explain. It wasn’t just alcohol because I’ve been way drunker than that before.”

The end result of that altered state of mind was that Ryback found himself in Bray’s bedroom,. “I’m watching their TV in their bedroom on their bed beyond drunk,” he said, “and they walk in and I’m giggling, laughing to myself on the bed. And then, Bray just cracks up laughing. And I remember at some point, I confessed my love to his wife. I just go, ‘Bray, me and your wife are in love. We love each other.’ And to this day, when we talk about it, we just laugh hysterically.”

Aside from the party story, Ryback had nothing but praise for both of the Rotunda brothers. “Bray was awesome. He just kind of came in there, and, like, you could just tell this guy was going to be a star, just his promos and there was just something [about him]. Him and Bo both.”
