It seems Cedric Alexander–CWC highlight and regular contender in the Cruiserweight Division–had an injury scare at Friday’s NXT live event.

According to a report from Wrestling Inc, Alexander had a match with Dan Matha in which a running clothesline took a bad turn and Cedric seemed to have been “knocked loopy.” The match appeared to finish has planned with Cedric winning via a Lumbar Check, but afterwards the ref called for a trainer to examine Alexander.

An interviewer got to the ring before the trainer, however. Alexander cut a promo, which was described as good but “way off.”

Alexander did not appear at Saturday’s live show, but he took to Twitter to say he’s good to go.

Cedric’s match with Kota Ibushi was one of the highlights of the Cruiserweight Classic, and he was one of the first batch of lightweight wrestlers signed to Raw’s new division. (The “please sign Cedric” chants probably didn’t hurt.)

We’re certainly glad to hear Cedric appears alright, and hope this scare has no lasting effects for the competitor. Personally, Alexander is my favorite of the division, and I hope he’s able to rise high in the Cruiserweight scene sooner rather than later.
