Vince McMahon has said multiple times that occasionally, “it’s time to shake things up again.” Today we found out this can also be applied to the creative team.

According to a report from F4WOnline.com, WWE has fired Tom Casiello, who was the managing lead writer for both the “Monday Night Raw” and “Smackdown Live” writing teams. What makes this so significant, is that he was very influential in the advancement of the women’s division since its resurgence in July 2015.

It is unknown at this time why was Casiello was released from his contract.

Prior to his time as a member of the WWE creative team, Casiello spent almost 20 years as a writer of daytime soap operas. Some of his credits include “As The World Turns,” “Days of our Lives,” and “The Young and The Restless.”

Editor’s Note:

Since Becky Lynch, Charlotte and Sasha Banks arrived on the main roster, the women’s division in WWE has never been the same. These superstars have revolutionized the industry, and have shown the world that they are just as capable as the men when it comes to competing in gimmick matches, such as a Tables Match and “Hell in a Cell.”
