Adam Rose is the real lemon now.

During a match with Jack Swagger on last week’s taping of WWE “Main Event,” the former “Party Posse” leader debuted a brand new character-“The Party Pooper.” In addition, Rose also took on Fandango during this week’s taping, sporting the same persona.

“The Party Pooper” character is being described as the complete opposite of Rose’s previous gimmick; instead of trying to energize the fans in attendance, he criticizes fans and other WWE superstars for making poor decisions.

The turn is being compared to the original formation of “Right to Censor,” in which both Val Venis and The Godfather flipped their characters upside-down upon joining the group. As part of this new gimmick, Rose came to the ring in black tights, a polo, glasses, and had no entrance music.

Since his debut on the main roster shortly after WrestleMania XXX, Rose has failed to get over with the crowd. WWE has teased several gimmick changes with Rose over the past few months, including a return to his previous NXT character-Leo Kruger, as well as a muscular character teaming up with former “Raw” General Manager Brad Maddox-“Beef Mode.”

Rose confirmed the gimmick change through his official Twitter account:

Editor’s Note:

Clearly, WWE feels they have something in Rose, or they would have just cut him. Instead, they are working hard to try and give him a persona that they feel will give him an opportunity to be over with the crowd. It seems that WWE has finally decided to pull the trigger on a gimmick change, and now only time will tell if Rose can make it work.
