Backstage News on the Popularity of NXT’s Bayley

The most popular female performer in all of World Wrestling Entertainment isn’t even performing on “Monday Night Raw” every week.

The rise of NXT star Bayley in 2015 has been truly remarkable, with more and more fans becoming followers of the current NXT Women’s Champion.

Bayley captured the title from former champion Sasha Banks at “NXT Takeover: Brooklyn” on Aug. 22, with PWInsider’s Dave Meltzer giving the match a rating of ****1/2.

A long-time WWE employee recently told Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline.com that Bayley is “so ungodly over, especially with little girls, that if she were to start granting wishes through Make-A-Wish, she will destroy John Cena.”

That’s saying something, as Cena recently set the record for all professional athletes with his 500th wish for the non-profit organization.

Bayley’s “I’m A Hugger” t-shirt is currently the No. 1 seller on WWEShop.com for all Divas on the roster.

You can make a strong argument for her needing to be a part of the Divas Revolution on “Raw” every week, but why ruin a good thing? She’s the face of women’s wrestling in NXT, and it’s her time to show the world that she can run the division and keep it afloat with so many key departures.
