The latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has provided an update on the return of Roman Reigns. As previously reported, Reigns is expected back on WWE TV very soon, and could make an appearance on television as early as December.
Reigns is expected back before Christmas. With the 2014 Slammy Awards being held in Greenville, SC during the Dec. 8 edition of “Monday Night Raw,” Reigns could return for at least an on-camera segment on that night.
As previously reported, Reigns is being advertised as one of the 30 men that will be featured in the 2015 Royal Rumble Match. However, Reigns most likely will not work matches until January, as the company does not want to rush him back into the ring.
Reigns is currently the man WWE executives believe could be the next “John Cena” for the company, and they want him to be 100% by “Royal Rumble.” Currently, Reigns is the man penciled in to win the battle royal and advance to a WWE World Heavyweight Championship bout against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 31.
While Reigns may return in December, he is not expected to work the Dec. 14 “WWE TLC” Pay-Per-View.
Editor’s Note:
Reigns returning will add another major babyface to the fold, meaning another big heel will have to unveil himself soon.
