As we reported Monday, the WWE is planning on bringing the NXT weekly program back to US television this fall. WrestlingObserver.com is now reporting that the program could be returning home to the SyFy network.

When NXT began as a reality competition, it replaced the WWE’s version of ECW on SyFy. When Friday Night Smackdown moved to the Science Fiction network, NXT was moved to WWE.com, and eventually just to television overseas. Hulu Plus has been the only avenue US fans could watch weekly NXT programming since it left WWE.com.

Rumors are also going around that NXT matches may also return to being taped during RAW and SmackDown live tours. This would allow the NXT developmental talent to get more experience working in front of larger crowds than they do now at Full Sail University. With more and more current main roster guys getting hurt, the NXT superstars may need to be called up sooner rather than later. The more exposure and experience they can gain, the better.
