Paul Bearer, real name William Moody, is rumored as being the first inductee for the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2014. This isn’t surprising, as Moody’s death before WrestleMania 29 saw fans and WWE superstars (past and present) taking to social media saying that Moody should go into the WWE Hall of Fame as soon as possible.

Moody (as Paul Bearer) is one of the most recognizable characters, as well as one of the most celebrated managers, in wrestling history. His time spent supporting the talents and gimmicks of The Undertaker, Mankind, and Kane in the 90’s will never be forgotten. The Undertaker is being considered as the one who will induct Moody, even though ‘Taker usually doesn’t show himself at the Hall of Fame ceremonies in order to not break character. If the Undertaker, and possibly Kane, do not induct Moody, Michael “PS” Hayes has also been talked about for the duties. Moody, as Percy Pringle III, managed Hayes’ faction, “the Fabulous Freebirds,” in the 1980’s.

While it is not unusual for rumors about “who will go into the next class of the WWE Hall of Fame” to start immediately following the previous inductions, this rumor probably holds more credibility than any that have come before it. We may have to wait until January to see it become official, but you can almost bet that we’ll see Paul Bearer join the elite class of legends that reside in the WWE Hall of Fame as early as next year.
