Future WWE Hall of Famer Sting is officially being promoted for “SummerSlam” weekend by WWE. As previously reported, the former WCW and TNA World Heavyweight Champion is expected to compete at the annual August Pay-Per-View, which will take place at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The man called Sting was reportedly originally set to join Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose in a six-man tag team match against a reunited Wyatt Family. However, Erick Rowan is currently out-of-action with a torn biceps, which means a new member to Bray Wyatt’s commune will have to be added in order for this six-man tag team bout to actually happen the way it was initially designed.

Luke Harper began the homecoming to the Wyatt Family during WWE “Battleground” on July 19, attacking Reigns and leaving him weak and allowing Wyatt to drop the former SHIELD member with a Sister Abigail and pinfall. More seeds for at least Haper and Wyatt vs. Reigns and Ambrose were planted during “Monday Night Raw” and “Smackdown.”

However, where Sting comes into play for “SummerSlam” itself is still in question. Does he team with Ambrose and Reigns, or simply make an appearance to set future WrestleMania plans in order? Regardless, Sting will be in Brooklyn during the weekend of Aug. 23.

WWE recently announced that he has been added to a “Meet & Greet” session during “SummerSlam Axxess” on Friday, Aug. 21. The session will take place at the 40/40 Club in Barclays Center at 1 p.m. ET. Cost to take part in this event is $125, and you’ll receive one 8×10 photo of Sting that he has signed, as well as a photo-op with “The Icon.” The Ticketmaster pre-sale for Sting’s session begins July 30.

Editor’s Note:

Welp. At least we know he’ll be in town. They’d be crazy not to have him appear or work a match.
