Two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair may appear on WWE television more often. PWInsider.com is reporting that WWE recently applied to trademark the name “Ric Flair” for “performance use.” This is usually only done with a likeness is about to be showcased quite often.
As we previously reported, Flair has signed a new contract with World Wrestling Entertainment. “The Nature Boy” can be booked apart from WWE for special appearances and such, but the company is insisting on a clause being attached to each deal that says that if they call and request him for anything, then Flair will have to make the WWE appearance and reschedule (or cancel) the one made outside of the company.
Flair was recently featured on NXT, which airs on the WWE Network. He appeared on the program along side of his daughter, and NXT Diva, Charlotte. Flair portrayed more of a “heel” persona on the program, providing more heat for Charlotte as she plays the part of “the dirtiest Diva in the game.” It is possible that Flair will be seen regularly with his daughter on NXT, at least for the time being.
Flair is also consistently being used on “pre-show” panels and is expected to work as often as needed, or requested by the company.
